Do you ever feel you are fumbling around in Zoom, looking for this and that? Especially when the meeting controls ribbon is hidden, I feel like I am always looking for a quicker way to do what I want. Well, I just discovered that there are many keyboard shortcuts you can memorize and use to move about much more smoothly.
Here are a few of the ones I think will be most useful.
View the Previous Page of Video Participants in Gallery View Page Up
View the Next Page of Video Participants in Gallery View Page Down
Always Show Meeting Controls Alt
Show/Hide Floating Meeting Controls Ctrl+Alt+Shift+H
Switch to Speaker View Alt+F1
Switch to Gallery View Alt+F2
Close Current Window Alt+F4
Mute/Unmute My Audio Alt+A
Start/Stop Screen Sharing Alt+T
Switch Camera Alt+N
Enter/Exit Full Screen Mode lt+F
Show/Hide In-meeting Chat Panel Alt+H
Increase Chat Display Size Ctrl++
Decrease Chat Display Size Ctrl+-
Show/Hide Participants Panel Alt+U
Of course, I won’t remember all these instantly so here is my plan. I have a goal of memorizing one at a time until I know all them. I will use one or more of these during each upcoming meeting. And I am making myself a job aid I can keep in sight. If you want me to send you my job aid, just drop me a line, or cut and paste the shortcuts above and print your own.
Maybe you have other needs, like taking a screen shot or jumping to chat with someone. You will find many more shortcuts under “settings” and then “keyboard shortcuts.”
Please let us know what other tricks you have discovered to make moving around Zoom meetings even more smooth and convenient.
